{"id":359,"date":"2016-03-02T03:07:48","date_gmt":"2016-03-02T03:07:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oldkaren.com\/?p=359"},"modified":"2016-03-02T03:07:48","modified_gmt":"2016-03-02T03:07:48","slug":"nose","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oldkaren.com\/?p=359","title":{"rendered":"Nose"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve spent a lifetime taking my nose for granted.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, it\u2019s driven me crazy from time to time, when it\u2019s stuffy or runny. Colds and the flu are not fun. But it has functioned, and looked, like a normal nose, so I never thought much about it.<\/p>\n<p>I just had cancer cut out of my left nostril, removing most of the cartilage from that side of my nose. The top of my nose is now twisted to the left. Then I had cancer cut out above the right side of my lip, pulling the bottom of my nose to the right. My face now resembles one made of clay where the potter unexpectedly grabbed hold of the nose, gave it a good counterclockwise twist, then left it. Just like that. Oddly, he also left a blob of clay inside the left nostril, making it nearly impossible for air to get in or out. It\u2019s a strange look, which makes me wonder what the potter was thinking. The good thing is that, like the breast cancer I\u2019ve already battled, the face cancer is gone.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, God isn\u2019t finished with me yet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.\u201d Philippians 1:6 NIV<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m thankful to be alive and to have at least one functioning nostril.
